StatLogic Sports Week 17 NFL Power Ratings Plus Betting Edges, Parlay Options & Props

Christmas has flown right past us, and now we have just two more weeks of the 2025 NFL season left to enjoy or suffer through, whichever you prefer.

During these final weeks of the season it can be extremely difficult to come up with completely accurate numbers - or numbers that we are comfortable with - for some NFL games, so instead of speculating or going with the numbers we have that may not include all of the factors at play such as injuries, unknown players in lineups, teams that are tanking and other outside factors we may not be privy to, we likely will throw out more games than usual.

It's not automatic that we just eliminate games, however, and it's not automatic that we will put an emphasis on teams that still are playing with something at stake. There are rivalries to consider - the Browns in no way want to help the Steelers clinch a division title, for example - as well as coaches fighting for their jobs and players getting opportunities to audition for their current team or potential future suitors. And sometimes teams that must win feel a lot more pressure than the underdogs who already have been eliminated and have nothing to lose. On top of that, there are the individual player salary incentives to consider.

As with all power-rating systems, we try our best to tweak our numbers appropriately based on whatever data we have access to as it becomes available. Figuring out one player's meaning to a rating or point spread is an inexact science at best. For all of those reasons , similar to the beginning of the season, we like to stress that at this time of year some of the best bets are the ones we don't make.

It isn't a requirement that if there are professional football games being played money must be wagered. In fact, that type of approach is a losing mentality over the long term, and that's all we've ever been about - maximizing our odds of being profitable over over time.

Below the team ratings, readers will find any betting edges that we have for this week's games along with any potential parlay or teaser options that meet our stringent criteria for release. We also may release a few prop bets for the general public in this space; our prop bets have won at a rate exceeding 75 percent this year. Sometimes we hold them just for clients.
